Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per bend Or and Gules (Brick Red) a cylinder and an eccentric ring bendwise counterchanged in sinister chief a hand grenade palewise Azure.  Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Gold scroll inscribed FORTITER PROGREDIENTES in Blue letters.

Symbolism
Brick red and golden yellow are the colors used for the Transportation Corps.  The division of the shield into two parts alludes to the dual function of the Transportation Corps, service and supply.  The cylinder and eccentric ring, symbolic of motor vehicles, refer to the mission of the unit to give superior mobility for military personnel, weapons and supplies to organizations, activities and operations.  The blue hand grenade represents the Infantry Division to which this Battalion is assigned.  The motto translates to Courageously Moving Forward.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 14 December 1960.
